The family of Linda Massie is desperate for answers and wanting what little closure is possible in their lives and are asking the Racine community for help.

Linda Massie 29 was sexually assaulted and brutally stabbed to death in a home at 708 Randolph Street that was being renovated on March 6, 1990. A white sheet covered her face, and a bucket of drywall joint compound covered the sheet. Paint and caulk had been used in an attempt to conceal evidence.

A stain found on Massie’s inner thigh, however, contained low levels of semen. At the time, testing couldn’t pinpoint the source of the semen. After a DNA search found a match in 2004 Racine police arrested Albert Hill, 43, New Albany, Miss., on April 24 for the 1990 murder of Linda Massie. A DNA test in 2003 matched Hill’s DNA to that found on Massie’s body.

Albert Hill was scheduled to stand trial on August 29, 2005 in Racine County but due to miscommunications with his attorney, his attorney withdrew from the case. Missing witnesses also hindered taking the case to trial where the State moved to dismiss due to missing 2 witnesses that allegedly moved out on state on April 7,2006 . The case was dismissed without prejudice and the State could come back and file if they could locate the witnesses.

Obituary notices show that Albert Earl Hill passed away in September of 2011. The family is still searching for answers and for the witnesses. If anyone has any information that could provide some answers they are asked to contact the Racine Police Department. Rudy-Credit Family

We are sharing this from Christina, their family still seeks justice in the hit and run death of their brother Rudy. Rudy Rodriguez was killed on Aug. 27, 1999.

Christina states, “16 years ago, our family lost one of our brothers to a terrible hit and run motorcycle accident. At the time he was a single father raising his 3 younger sons, Ramon, Reuben, Ricardo and had 2 older sons, Rudy and Ricky.

They still have not caught the “person” (I choose not to call him a man because he is a coward). This coward was arrested the night of the accident but was released the next morning by posting the $5,000 cash bond and since then has disappeared. His name is Francisco Javier Gonzalez Cruz DOB 12/03/66 or 12/03/64. He has outstanding warrants for his arrest for the following: HIT & RUN Causing Death, Bail Jumping, Operating Under the Influence, Driving After Revocation and Fail/Yield Right Of Way. He is from Mexico and we have had confirmation that he went back to his homeland but over the years have had information that he was back in the United States.

Please if you know anything, know any of these people or know the whereabouts of this coward please please call your local authorities. All we want is justice for our family so we can finally have closure. Thank you!”

On December 1, 1986, four young Burlington men broke into the Auctioneer’s Inn at 4614 Sheard Road in Dover. During an investigation, Racine County sheriff’s deputies learned the names of suspects. One of those people was Christopher Winkler who was 19 at the time. The charges were dropped again Chris 4 months later, others did serve time for the burglary. According to his family he would not have just left as he was very close to his family at the time of his disappearance and would return for dinner every night. A month and a half later, his mother reported him missing. He was last seen the night of Feb. 16, 1987.

According to media reports “Somebody has killed him, I just know that,” his mother, Jean Winkler, said at the time. To this day, sheriff’s investigators have the same hunch. “We believe he was killed,” Sheriff’s Lt. James P. Ivanoski said recently. “But all we have is a missing-persons report. We have no evidence whatsoever.”

The family laid him to rest. His funeral services were held at St. Charles Catholic Church in Burlington on Friday, February 13, 1998.

If anyone has any information relating to the disappearance and death of Christopher Winkler, you are asked to please contact The Racine County Sheriff’s Office.

eddie1 The family still waits for answers. His sister still after all these years misses her “big brother” and want justice. She has asked us to shared Eddie’s story in hopes that someone will come forward to try to help bring a small amount of peace to the family.

Around 10 p.m. on April 7, 1988, Caledonia police responded to the 7200 block of Lakeshore Drive in the Crestview subdivision . The call came in from a passerby who thought a boy had fallen off his bike, Caledonia Police stated.

An officer who arrived on the scene instead found a critically injured 22-year-old Eddie Gerardo lying in a driveway. Eddie was rushed to the hospital where he died of stab wounds.

According to a story printed in the Journal Times
Caledonia police launched a full investigation into Eddie’s death in 1988. They had a suspect in the case, but never gathered enough evidence to make an arrest. About seven or eight years ago police started a cold case investigation of the homicide. Investigators from their department and the Racine County Sheriff’s Department worked on nothing else.

“They came to a conclusion that was different than the first investigation,” according to Caledonia Police. “They came up with a different suspect.”

Caledonia police still believe the suspect from the second investigation is the person who killed Gerardo, but they don’t have enough evidence to arrest him. According to authorities “He’s still out there”.

Anyone with information on Eddie Gerardo’s death is asked to call the Caledonia Police Department’s Detective Bureau at (262) 835-4423.
